Former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni shared his thoughts on his relationship with Virat Kohli, describing it as one built on mutual respect, camaraderie, and shared experiences through playing together for almost a decade.

MS Dhoni saw his heir in a young Virat Kohli, who fearlessly smashed feisty Australian and English bowlers all over the park under daunting conditions.  After giving up Test captaincy in 2013, Dhoni officially passed on the baton to Kohli in 2017.

The transition was as smooth as it got due to the mutual respect between the iconic duo, especially Kohli’s utmost respect and admiration towards his seniors.

As MS Dhoni bid adieu to international cricket, Virat Kohli struggled in his absence for a while before eventually establishing himself as the greatest batters amongst current generation and also elevating India’s status in Test cricket.

That being said, at a recent event, MS Dhoni recalled his relationship with Virat Kohli and refused to label it due to the significant age gap. 

But he did opine that their bond was built on mutual respect, love, and passion for the game. As colleagues, they achieved a lot together playing for India, and for Dhoni, Virat ranks amongst the best cricketers globally.

Needless to say, Virat Kohli’s camaraderie with MS Dhoni was one to be remembered for ages. Kohli once stated how Dhoni stood by him during his lowest moments. 

While he may not express himself on a public platform, MS is an absolutely sensitive gentleman off the field, especially for the people close to him.

Overall, MS Dhoni-Virat Kohli's camaraderie is a testament to the spirit of Indian cricket, where players not only compete together but also form lasting friendships that go beyond the game.
