The race to playoffs is heating up with the 67th game scheduled to be played between Mumbai Indians and Lucknow SuperGiants at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

The two have battled against one another five times over the course of three years with LSG having an upper hand over them. They have defeated Mumbai Indians four times whereas MI has managed to defeat LSG just once that too back in 2023.

Mumbai Indians became the first team to be eliminated from IPL 2024 however, for LSG their only chance to make it to the playoffs is that they will have to defeat MI by 94 runs and then hope that SRH loses both games with a combined margin 194 runs.

Shifting the focus to the pitch at Wankhede Stadium, let's take an in-depth look at the surface that will host a crucial game.

MI Vs LSG: Wankhede Stadium Pitch Report

The Wankhede Stadium has square boundaries that are a mere 64 to 68 metres and the straighter boundaries are about 68-72 metres, in simpler terms making it easy for batters to smash boundaries and maximums.

This also implies that the pitch is heavily dominated by batters, with the ball typically coming onto the bat quite nicely.

The Wankhede surface is flat and dry, and hence there's no harm in saying it's a batting paradise. It also assists pacers at the start, and it is expected that captains will bring in the spinners in the later half of the game  because of its dry nature and also because it  would grip well for them.

Due to the dew factor and considering the track record it is expected that the team that wins the toss will opt to field first.
