On Friday, Mumbai Indians will take on Lucknow Super Giants in match 67 of the ongoing Indian Premier League season. 

Led by Hardik Pandya, Mumbai Indians have had a disastrous run in the tournament, losing nine of their thirteen group-stage matches. 

So, moving on to this game, the five-time champions would like to reign supreme over the tottering Super Giants and finish the competition on a high. 

Barring some scintillating performances from Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah, absolutely nothing has gone MI's way in the IPL 2024. 

Ex-captain Rohit Sharma has emerged as one of the biggest disappointments for them, managing 349 runs across thirteen innings. 

More importantly, Rohit's last six scores read 6, 8, 4, 11, 4 and 19, concerning the Mumbai-based franchise. 

So, before the all-important T20 World Cup, Rohit might ask the team management for a break, opting to sit out in the final fixture. This might help him rediscover himself as the Indian team needs his best version in the marquee event starting next month. 

If Rohit is rested, MI might include Dewald Brevis in their playing XI as he hasn't got enough chances this season. 

Nevertheless, if MI bowl first, we expect both Rohit and Brevis to be among the impact substitutes, with either of them replacing a bowler in the second half. 

Conversely, if MI bat first, Brevis could open alongside Ishan, with Thushara replacing him in the second innings.
