The much-awaited 3rd T20I between India and South Africa is slated to take place on 13 November at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. Despite the ups and downs, India and South Africa have won one game apiece in the series, and with just two games remaining, Suryakumar Yadav-led India hopes to seal the series in the third game by bringing their A-game.
Sanju Samson's Scintillating Ton
The series began positively for India as they defeated The Proteas in the first game by an excellent margin of 61 runs. The credit for that victory essentially goes to Sanju Samson, who slammed a blazing 107 runs to help India quickly surpass the 200+ score. Despite losing the wicket of Abhishek Sharma early, Samson was supported by good cameos by Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma.
On the bowling front, Varun Chakravarthy and Ravi Bishnoi did wonders as they picked up a shining 3-wicket haul, along with Avesh Khan, who bagged two wickets. They were well-supported by Arshdeep Singh, who also picked up a wicket.
Chakravarthy Shines Despite India's Defeat
In the second T20I, things went against India's will as South Africa won by three wickets. The batting order witnessed an unprecedented collapse, losing the top order for single-digit scores and a duck. Abhishek Sharma failed to fire up his bat again and departed for just four runs. However, the middle order stabilised the innings a little, and eventually, the Men In Blue posted a total of 124.
Chakravarthy continued with his exploits as he picked up his maiden five-wicket haul by dismissing key batters of the opposition. Unfortunately, things did not turn out as India had hoped. The failure of the batting line-up can be credited for this defeat.
Abhishek Sharma Dropped; Ramandeep Likely To Debut
Although highly unlikely, as it has been observed that the Indian management believes in backing their players, Abhishek Sharma could be dropped in the upcoming third T20I since he has not been a large contributor with the bat.
If that happens, considering the flexibility of Tilak Varma, he will likely be open for India alongside Sanju Samson. Moreover, India would likely bring in Ramandeep Singh for batting and bowling depth, considering the pitch will be batter-friendly and they would need multi-dimensional players.
