The ILT20 2025-26 is reaching its business end with playoffs set to begin on Tuesday, December 30. Desert Vipers, Dubai Capitals, and MI Emirates are the three teams that have qualified for the next round. Meanwhile, the winner of the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders and the Gulf Giants match will take the final berth.

It has been an enthralling tournament so far, with 29 matches played and just five games remaining. The competition grabbed more eyeballs after the IPL 2026 mini-auction on December 16, as fans were curious to see the new recruits perform in global events.

Several stars who bagged a whopping amount of money are participating in ILT20, and this article will focus on the five top buys in the auction and how they performed in ILT20 2025-26.

1. Matheesha Pathirana - 18 crores

Among the players featuring in ILT20, Matheesha Pathirana is one of them. The right-arm seamer from Sri Lanka was the second-highest pick in IPL 2026 mini-auction. KKR splurged a whopping 18 crores from their purse to rope in the ex-CSK seamer for the upcoming season.

Shedding light on Pathirana's performance in ILT20, the 23-year-old represented Sharjah Warriorz and played just three matches in the group-stages. However, the Knight Riders should be happy because the right-arm seamer has done well despite limited appearance.

Pathirana has picked up five wickets in just three innings, with an economy of 8.58. He also registered a strike-rate of 14.00. In a nutshell, KKR camp will be happy that their recent recruit will be happy.

2. Liam Livingstone - 13 crores

Liam Livingstone had an interesting day at the IPL auction. The 32-year-old went unsold in the first round, but was brought back in the accelarated round. Notably, the Sunrisers camp had their eyes on Livingstone and roped in the star all-rounder for a whopping 13 crores, making him the fifth highest-buy in the recent auction.

Talking about his performance in ILT20, the all-rounder is playing for Abu Dhabi Knight Riders and has had a mixed season so far. The 32-year-old started off well with a brilliant 82-run knock against Sharjah Warriorz.

However, he sturggled for the rest of the tournament and only amassed 200 runs in nine innings, averaging just 25.00. The only positive has been his scoring rate which is 145+. Hyderabad must be sweating hard in panic as Livingstone hasn't really bowled in ILT20 and has 0 wickets in two innings.

3. Mustafizur Rahman - 9.20 crores

Kolkata Knight Riders entered the IPL 2026 mini-auction with a purse of 64 crores and didn't shy away from splurging big bucks on their shortlisted cricketers. Mustafizur Rahman was one of them and was picked by KKR for 9.20 crores, making him the only Bangladesh-based cricketer who will feature in IPL 2026.

The 30-year-old garnered a lot of interest at the auction table and has been playing for Dubai Capitals in ILT20 2025-26. KKR should be happy because the left-arm seamer has 15 wickets in eight innings and is the second-leading wicket-taker in the tournament.

4. Jason Holder - 7 crores

Gujarat Titans, who were one of the most quiet teams on the auction table, had Jason Holder in their mind and got their desired player at 7 crores. Interestingly, the 34-year-old has not played in the IPL in last two years. Since he had a great 2025, the Ashish Nehra-coached side thought of roping in the all-rounder.

Unfortunately for the Titans, Holder is having a season to forget with the bat in ILT20 as the Caribbean powerhouse has only scored 51 runs in six innings, averaging 8.50. His highest-score in the entire tournament has been 22 (9) against the Capitals.

Holder has been making the noise with the ball as he has 10 wickets in seven innings, making him a valuable bowling option for Gujarat Titans for IPL 2026.

5. Pathum Nissanka - 4 crores

Delhi Capitals struggled with openers in IPL 2025 and worked on their opening slot at the auction table. The Axar Patel-led side roped in several top-order batters and Sri Lanka's Pathum Nissanka was one of them.

The Capitals signed Nissanka for just 4 crores. However, the investment seems to be paying off as the right-handed batter is making the noise in ILT20. Representing Gulf Giants, Nissanka has scored 243 runs in six innings, averaging 40.50.

Nissanka has been one of the few players in the league to have donned the dual role of a consistent yet aggressive batter as he has a strike-rate of 186.92.
