Gujarat Titans (GT) will play their fifth match of the IPL 2024 on Saturday evening when they take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Ekana Cricket Stadium.
The Shubman Gill-led side, who have won twice and lost as many matches, are seventh on the points table, and no wonder a win will take them to a slightly better position, which will help them keep their chances alive for the IPL 2024 playoff qualifications.
The Titans made a forced change last time, with Kane Williamson in place of David Miller. As Williamson did not score much with the bat, people dearly missed Miller for his natural finishing blows.
Will Miller come back to the playing XI? No, it won’t happen. Miller will miss two weeks of competition play to recover, as Williamson himself has confirmed. Hence, there are high chance that Gujarat will keep the same foreigners, as well as the most of the lineup, that suffered a heart-breaking defeat against Punjab Kings.
So, it is safe to say that Wriddhiman Saha will continue to keep wickets, and will open the batting alongside Gill, followed by Williamson, and Sai Sudarshan. They may bring in Shahrukh Khan, who bagged a lucrative contract ahead of this season, and to make way for him, Vijay Shankar might get dropped.
The others, including Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad, and Umesh Yadav, among others, are expected to retain their places.
