After losing to KKR by 106 runs, Delhi Capitals will look to turn things around when they go up against Mumbai Indians on Saturday in Match 20 of the IPL 2024 at Wankhede Stadium. The Rishabh Pant-led side have already lost three times in four attempts in the competition, resulting in them languishing ninth on the points table.
Delhi require too many areas to fix, and to make matters worse, they won’t have the services of Kuldeep Yadav yet again. The left-arm wrist spinner is still recovering after picking up a groin niggle, and hence, Pant won’t have the luxury to use him with an aim to get breakthroughs in the middle overs.
However, Delhi may bring back Mukesh Kumar in the playing XI, who also picked up a niggle ahead of the KKR fixture. In addition, they are expected to give a chance to Kumar Kushagra, who bagged a whopping INR 7.2 crore contract in the most-recent auction.
To make way for them, Rashikh Salam Dar and Sumit Kumar might have to be sidelined, whereas the rest should get another go in order to turn the tide for the Ricky Ponting-led think tank.
In another significant blow, DC are expected to miss Mitchell Marsh, who has been injured, as confirmed by Sourav Ganguly. In his absence, Ponting & Co. may bring in Jake Fraser-McGurk among the top-order batters.
