On Sunday, December 1, India brushed aside the ghosts of 36-all out in the previous pink-ball Test in Adelaide as they beat Prime Minister XI by six wickets. The Rohit Sharma-led side chased down the target with 19 balls to spare and gained confidence ahead of the 2nd BGT Test on December 6.
Australia will lock horns against India at Adelaide Oval and are eyeing to level the series 1-1. Nonetheless, the Indian players displayed confidence against the AUS PM XI. Several stars like Rohit Sharma and Sarfaraz Khan had days to forget, but a few shone brilliantly. Here are the Indian players who starred in the recently concluded warm-up Test.
1. Shubman Gill
To a delight for the Indian fans, Shubman Gill, who missed the first Test because of a thumb injury, returned to action for the first time in this series and with a bang. Shubman smashed a fifty on his return, before returning to the pavilion unbeaten to give more chances to other batters.
Notably, Gill amassed 50 (62), which featured seven fours. He looked in total control of his knock and did not show any signs of discomfort.
2. Harshit Rana
Harshit, who made his India debut in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024, breathed fire against AUS PM XI. Notably, Rana took four wickets and too in a span of 6 balls.
Rana looked like an experienced player with years of experience playing in Australia. He pitched the deliveries on the right length and instilled a feat in the opposition.
3. Washington Sundar
Sundar, who often goes under-credited for his efforts, again justified his place in the playing XI and repaid Gautam Gambhir's faith in him. In the recently concluded match, he shone with the bat and the ball.
Unlike Jaiswal's scratchy knock, Sundar was in command of his innings and played a valuable innings of 42 (36), which featured five fours. He also shone with the ball and took a solitary wicket.
