Rajasthan Royals (RR) will face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 11th game of the IPL 2025 season. The match will be held on March 30 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati starting from 7.30 PM IST.

RR stands in a precarious position, losing two games to SRH and KKR. They are yet to collect any points this season, which makes the upcoming clash very important for them.

On the other end, CSK won their tournament opener against MI but dropped the ball against RCB at home ground, Chepauk.

With stakes so high, Rajasthan Royals are likely to enforce some changes into the playing XI.

RR Batting Lineup To Remain Same

Rajasthan Royals is most likely to keep the opening pair the same for the next match, with Yashasvi Jaiswal starting with Sanju Samson. Since Samson is ruled out to field in the first 3 games of the season, he will bat as an impact player.

At no.3 stand-in captain Riyan Parag will hold the fort. His performance hasn’t been satisfactory so far, scoring 25 runs against KKR. Hence, Parag has to step up against CSK. Nitish Rana is another player who has tons of potential stored but is unable to translate so far. He will bat at no.4.

Dhruv Jurel, the wicket-keeper batter, will drop to no.5. He has shown promise so far, scoring 70 and 33 in the first two games. Shimron Hetmyer will bat as a finisher. After scoring 42 vs SRH, Hetmyer flattered against KKR, which is not a promising sign for RR.

Jofra Archer Likely To Be Dropped

Apart from the middle-order, RR’s major problem is their pace bowling. Jofra Archer, for whom RR spent INR 12.50 crore in the mega auction, has been the biggest letdown. He conceded 76 runs against SRH, the most expensive spell in the history of IPL.

Moreover, against KKR, RR bowled him 2.2 overs where he leaked 33 runs. Hence, RR would likely replace Archer with Fazal Farooqi. The Afghanistan pacer has a proven track record of picking up wickets in the powerplay with the new ball. His accuracy and pace can help the Royals own the powerplay.

Tushar Deshpande and Sandeep Sharma will support Fazal in the pace department whereas Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana will lead the spin attack. Sandeep, who succeeded with the new ball last year, appears to have lost his spark, picking up a single wicket in two games.

Theekshana and Tushar picked up 5 wickets combined against SRH but must maintain consistency.
