The Champions Trophy 2025 is around the corner, with preparations in full swing for the prestigious fifty-over tournament. Six teams out of eight have submitted their 15-member squad. India and Pakistan are the two teams who are yet to announce their squad.
Eyes are on the two boards to release the list as several spots are up for grabs on both sides. Talking about players cementing their places, a few deserving ones are still unsure of their place and fear missing out because of disciplinary actions.
Meanwhile, this article will shed light on three Indo-Pak players who might miss out on the Champions Trophy 2025 squad.
1.Sanju Samson
On Thursday, January 14, reports emerged that the BCCI is unhappy with Sanju Samson and might leave him out of Champions Trophy 2025 squad. The reports added that the apex cricket board of India is not happy with the fact that Samson skipped the ongoing season of Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Notably, Samson, who is a part of India's T20I set-up, was also in contention for ODI squad and a place in Champions Trophy, but his decision to give Vijay Hazare Trophy a miss, has done him a damage.
2. Fakhar Zaman
Fakhar Zaman is another strong player who might not be seen in Champions Trophy because of his issue with the PCB over the controversial tweet that he put in Babar Azam's defence. Notably, when the PCB had dropped Babar from the team, Fakhar had posted a tweet criticising the PCB.
Things went south as the PCB issued a show-cause notice and had also removed Fakhar from the team. The southpaw apologised for his actions and also mended things, but it was not enough as he is yet to be picked in the team again. Thus, going by the looks of it, things look difficult for Zaman.
3.Ishan Kishan
Ishan Kishan is another name, who is not on great terms with the BCCI. Ishan irked the Roger Binny-led board after he travelled to Dubai in early 2024 while he was on a break to manage his workload.
The tension grew between the two parties and it resulted in the BCCI dropping him out of the central contract. Till date, Ishan is yet to return to the Indian colours and continues to remain out of the central contract.
