The first Test between Pakistan and West Indies will commence on January 17 in Multan and the home side are firm favourites to clinch the two-match Test series against a struggling West Indies team. In the last two Tests at home, Pakistan prepared a spinning track which turned out to be a blessing for them as the team thrashed England to clinch the games.
Hence, it seems logical that Pakistan stick to the same formula as they embark on a journey to defeat the Windies. As per the latest visuals from the Multan stadium, it seems as if the team has taken a leaf out of Indian book and are once again preparing a graveyard for the batters to win the series.
Pakistan taking a leaf out of India?
With just a couple of days left for the Multan Test, the curator is using all his tricks to give Noman Ali and Sajid Khan the advantage. The duo wreaked havoc Vs England in the last two Tests at home and shared almost every wicket amongst them as the English side surrendered in front of them. Expect similar visuals when the two teams will collide on 17th.
The groundstaffs are preparing a rank turner by covering the pitch with a greenhouse and using heaters inside it. This will keep the pitch dry and will help the spinners to use their skills. Pakistan are following on India's footsteps as the Asian giants used to prepare spinning tracks to give assistance to R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja to maintain their home domination.
No Shaheen in the squad, Pakistan go spin heavy
Shaheen Afridi has once again been neglected for the Test series. As reported earlier, he is facing disciplinary issues and was also ignored for the South Africa series.
The team has gone in with plethora of spin bowling options as Noman Ali, Sajid Khan, Salman Ali Agha and Abrar Ahmed are four spin bowling options to torment the Windies.
