The preparations for IPL 2026 are in full swing, and teams have already started preparing for the upcoming edition. At present, the trade window is open, and the franchises are looking at options.

Talking about the Mumbai Indians, the five-time IPL winners registered their fifth straight year without a trophy and crashed out of the tournament in the eliminators. The Hardik Pandya-led side would look to make a few changes to their team as well.

The MI management should also turn their eye towards Rohit, who is 38 years old and will turn 39 by the time of the next season. Thus, Mumbai need to look at options to replace the Hitman in the future. Meanwhile, this article will look at three players who can be great fits for MI at the top in the coming seasons. Notably, MI can target these players via trade.

1.Priyansh Arya

Mumbai can contact Punjab Kings for a player trade and rope in Priyansh Arya, who was on fire in his debut season with the Kings. The Shreyas Iyer-led side reached the IPL 2025 and Arya played a major role in it.

Notably, the southpaw amassed 475 runs in the season, which features a century and two fifty-plus scores. Now, MI can target the 24-year-old as the five-time winners are looking for a player with consistency, while Rohit going to Punjab Kings will be a great brand exposure for the Preity Zinta-owned side as they currently struggle to match the brand value as that of RCB, MI, or CSK.

2. Sai Sudharsan

Another team that shouldn't mind letting go off a star player to bring in Rohit Sharma for increasing their brand value is Gujarat Titans. Sai Sudharsan had an extra-ordinary season with Gujarat, where the left-handed batter earned the tag of Mr. Consistent after he won the orange cap for his 759 runs season.

MI should look at Sai as a long term option and also need a batter who can provide the perfect start at the top and bring a stability amid the growing love for aggressive intent at the top.

3. Sanju Samson

Rajasthan Royals have dealt with heavy blow ahead of the start of the new season as there are reports that their skipper Sanju Samson is comtemplating leaving the Royals ahead of the upcoming season. Reports suggested that the likes of CSK and KKR are interested in signing the RR captain, but the 30-year-old can be a great option for MI.

Notably, Samson missed half of IPL 2025 because of injury, but the Royals didn't miss the right-handed batter because of Vaibhav Suryavanshi's heroics and the way he entered the scene.
