In a significant development, explosive keeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been handed a one-match suspension for his side's slow over rate in the previous IPL 2024 face-off against Rajasthan Royals. 

As a result, the southpaw will miss Sunday's all-important clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, which is a must-win game for the Capitals to stay alive in the playoffs race.

Warner's comeback might shut the door for Gulbadin Naib, who could be replaced by Indian seam-bowling all-rounder Sumit Kumar.
