RCB's Rajat Patidar In, Shreyas Iyer Out; Here's India's Playing XI For 2nd ODI Vs South Africa

Riding on bowlers' exceptional performance, India recorded an emphatic eight-wicket victory in the first ODI against South Africa at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. Bowling first, India restricted the Proteas to a paltry 116, as Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan ran through their batting order. In response, the visitors chased the target without breaking a sweat, courtesy of flamboyant fifties from Sai Sudharsan and Shreyas Iyer

However, experienced batter Shreyas Iyer won't be available for the remainder of the series, as he will join the Test squad for the upcoming two-match series. Therefore, we expect ace RCB batter Rajat Patidar to replace Iyer in India's playing XI for the second ODI at St George's Park in Gqeberha.

Ruturaj Gaikwad will continue to open alongside B Sai Sudharsan, who slammed a scintillating fifty in the first match in Johannesburg. Rajat Patidar is likely to replace Iyer at number three, followed by Tilak Varma and skipper KL Rahul at number four and five, respectively.

With India preferring Sanju Samson for the number six batter's role, Rinku Singh is expected to warm the bench for the second consecutive time in the series. Axar Patel will play as the all-rounder, with Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, Mukesh Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav retaining their place as pure bowling options.
