Heading into the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, the Indian Premier League (IPL) captivated audiences with high-scoring matches that only built up anticipation for the marquee tournament.

However, when all the 20 participating nations turned up in the West Indies and the United States of America (USA), they were greeted with pitches that heavily favoured the bowlers and were a nightmare for batters.

Match 29 of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024, witnessed Afghanistan bundle out Papua New Guinea (PNG) for 95, which created an unwanted record for the tournament.

PNG's 95 all-out was the ninth time that a team lost all its wickets for 100 or below the run-mark, which is the most times in any single T20 World Cup edition, since its inception in 2007.

Before the 2024 edition, 2014 and 2021 editions players in Bangladesh, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), respectively witnessed eight all-outs apiece.

Interestingly, the last edition in Australia had zero instances of a team getting all out for 100 or below.

The lowest score in the ongoing competition came in Match 18 between West Indies and Uganda.

West Indies rattled Uganda batters, who managed merely 39 runs, which is also the joint lowest-ever in T20 World Cup history. The Netherlands were knocked over for 39 against Sri Lanka in the 2014 edition, which saw eight times sides get all-out for 100 or below.
