The 2021 winners- Multan Sultans have been on the cusp of glory in the Pakistan Super League, reaching the finals in 2022 and 2023 without clinching the title. In the upcoming 2024 season, they will aim to win their second title. Their campaign kicks off against the Karachi Kings on February 18 in Multan, setting the stage for a highly anticipated showdown.

With a revamped squad brimming with determination and a fervent fan base rallying behind them, Multan Sultans are primed to make a resounding statement in PSL 2024

Led by stalwarts like Mohammad Rizwan, explosive batter Khushdil Shah, and pace spearhead Shahnawaz Dahani, they boast a formidable lineup ready to dominate the field.

Marquee signings like South African opener Reeza Hendricks and English cricketers- Chris Jordan, Dawid Malan and David Willey- add firepower to their arsenal.

The Sultans' batting lineup exudes strength, with Hendricks and Johnson Charles giving them the option at the top of the order.

The middle order is fortified by the hard-hitting Khushdil and the dynamic Iftikhar, complemented by Rizwan's stability and leadership behind the stumps. Emerging talents like Tayyab Tahir and Usman Khan provide depth and promise to the lineup.

In the bowling department, Multan will rely on the expertise of Abbas Afridi, Shahnawaz Dahani, Usama Mir, Chris Jordan, and Mohammad Ali to dismantle opposition lineups and seize crucial breakthroughs. Not to forget, Willey is also there to add a different dynamic to the bowling attack.

For their first match of the 2024 season, the Sultans will likely entrust skipper Rizwan and Malan with opening duties, while Charles could be picked ahead of the out-of-form Hendricks.

Iftikhar is slated to bat at number four, followed by Khushdil and Tayyab. David Willey will assume the role of the lone all-rounder, while the bowling attack will feature Afridi, Dahani, Chris Jordan, and Usama Mir.

However, injuries to premier pacers Reece Topley and Ihsanullah have depleted the quality of the pace bowling unit, potentially making them vulnerable in the death overs. Nonetheless, with a balanced squad and astute leadership, Multan Sultans are poised to embark on a spirited quest for PSL glory, aiming to fulfil their long-cherished title aspirations.
