Bangladesh captain Litton Das has been in good touch lately. Ahead of the Asia Cup 2025, he looks set to play a key role for his side. His recent performances, especially against Netherlands and Sri Lanka, show that he has picked up form at just the right time.

The Bangla Tigers recently won T20I series against the Netherlands 2-0 (the third match was abandoned due to rain). This was their third consecutive T20I series win, after beating Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Litton’s batting has been central to this success.

However, it is important to note that this will be the first appearance of Litton Das in the T20 Asia Cup.

Improvement In T20I Performance Of Litton Das

If we compare Litton’s stats from last year to this year, his improvement is clear. In 2024, he struggled for consistency, but in 2025, his strike rate and average have improved significantly, along with three half-centuries.

So far in his T20I career, Litton has scored 2,437 runs in 108 innings at a strike rate of 126.46. After rediscovering his form in 2025, he will be eager to carry that momentum into the Asia Cup.

Notably, his recent matches further showcases some improvement. Against Netherlands, he scored 73, 18 not out, and 51* in three innings. In the series he showed his fluency and composure at the top of the order. However, in Pakistan series, his scores were modest, with 8, 8 and 1.

Earlier, in Sri Lanka series, he produced a match-winning 76 in Dambulla, alongside knocks of 32 and 6. Although inconsistent at times, his ability to play big innings when required has given Bangladesh the edge in several contests.

Litton's Abysmal Returns In UAE: A Threat To Bangladesh

Since the Asia Cup 2025 will be held in the UAE, it’s important to check Litton’s past record there.

In 10 matches in Emirates, he has managed only 196 runs at an average of 19.6 and a strike rate of 107.69. These numbers are not particularly impressive, but the form he is carrying into this tournament could help him rewrite his record in those conditions.

Litton Das Against Asia Cup Group B Opponents

Bangladesh are grouped with Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong in Group B. Against Afghanistan, Litton has scored 227 runs in 10 innings at an average of 25.22 with a highest score of 60, while striking at 109.66.

Against Sri Lanka, he has fared slightly better, scoring 252 runs in 10 innings at an average of 25.2 with a best of 76, while maintaining a healthier strike rate of 125.37. He has yet to face Hong Kong in T20 internationals, so the Asia Cup could bring his first opportunity against them.

Litton Das has shown great improvement in 2025, with a much better strike rate and greater consistency compared to last year. While his record in the UAE remains underwhelming and his performances against Sri Lanka and Afghanistan have been modest, his current form suggests he has the momentum to turn things around and make a strong impact in T20 Asia Cup.
