Kohli Rested; Suryakumar Yadav Out, Rinku Singh In? Here's India's Squad For South Africa ODIs

After the ongoing T20I series against Australia, India will tour South Africa to cross swords against the host nation in three T20Is, three ODIs and two Test matches. While the Men in Blue continue to maintain their home dominance, this tour gives them the opportunity to conquer the final frontier.

Several reports suggest India's squad for the South African tour will be picked this evening. Before the BCCI selection committee reveals it, let's see which players could be selected for the three-match ODI series after the T20I leg.

Veteran cricketers Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be on focus, with the Indian selection panel set to decide their future in the white-ball formats.

While several media houses have reported that Virat Kohli has opted out of the white-ball leg, Rohit Sharma might play the ODIs as India needs an experienced campaigner on South African soil. So, if he is included, Rohit will continue to lead the side and open the batting alongside Shubman Gill.

Ruturaj Gaikwad's impressive run in Australia T20Is might earn him an ODI call-up on the South African tour. Among others, the familiar faces of Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul will likely form the Indian batting core.

In an apparent move, India might exclude Suryakumar Yadav from the ODI squad following the batter's failure in the recently concluded World Cup. Meanwhile, Tilak Varma and Rinku Singh could be included, forming a solid middle order alongside Iyer and Rahul.

Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav will make it into the squad as the spinners, with Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Shardul Thakur and Mukesh Kumar likely forming the Indian pace attack.
