Delhi Capitals have started IPL 2025 with a bang, winning their initial three matches. They have plenty of quality in their disposal and are one of the most balanced units in the competition.
However, their star opener of the last year, Jake Fraser-McGurk has struggled big time and has scored just 46 runs in four matches. It has raised questions over his place in the side, and if he continues to perform in the same vain, he could be dropped soon. Thus, here are the three players who can replace Jake Fraser-McGurk if the DC management decide to drop him.
1. Donovan Ferreira
The South African is a powerful middle order batter, and his addition in DC batting line-up can add more depth. Ferrreira is a middle order batter, and if he replaces Jake Fraser-McGurk, KL Rahul can permanently go at the top of the order, and it will help the Indian star settle into the role where he has been successful in the IPL.

He played two matches in IPL 2024 and could not do well, but he did well in the recently held SA20 and played some crucial knocks under pressure. His strike-rate was 155.23 in that tournament while as shown in the table, his T20 strike-rate is even better which shows the kind of impact he can make in the lower middle order. His style of play is also suited for the flat decks in India, and thus he could be able overseas replacement, as there is no other foreign batting option at their disposal.
The second option is the one taken by Delhi Capitals when they were without Faf du Plessis in the game against CSK. Rizvi batted at four, and KL Rahul opened the innings, and he could be preferred again if Jake Fraser-McGurk gets dropped. In the two matches, he has played, the batter has not done much, but he is a quality batter and has a decent T20 record.

He is an experienced cricketer who has scored runs in the IPL in past, and if he can continue the form he has shown in the domestic cricket, it could be highly beneficial for DC.

Karun Nair has lot of experience of playing in IPL too. He has 1496 runs in 68 innings and has 10 fifties to his name in the league. As shown in the table, he had a brilliant Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 where he not only scored runs consistently but also displayed his ability to accelerate at the right moment.
Thus, the flexibility and form that Karun Nair brings to the table makes him one of the strong candidates to replace Jake Fraser-McGurk.
