The defending champions, England will walk out to take the field against India in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024. This match will be played at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on June 27 at 8:00 PM IST.

England have stuttered on their path to the semis. However, they have peaked at the right time and have won the required matches to be in the semis of the tournament. The best part for the English team is that the key players are picking up form at the right time and that will give them confidence while walking into this all important game.

In their quest to defeat India in consectuive T20 World Cup semi-finals, here are three players who could be pivotal.

1.Jos Buttler

The English skipper did not have a great start to the tournament with the bat. Howver, in the last outing Jos Buttler looked at his destructive best and he will be looking to carry that form into this game.

Buttler has a great record in the semi-finals of T20 World Cups. In three innings he has scored 141 runs while being dismissed only once. Besides, in the last T20 WC semi-final, Buttler remained unbeaten on 80 and that was against India.

His ability to notch up his perforomances in the big stages and his previous numbers make him a probable match-winner for England in this game.

2. Chris Jordan

The death-over specialist of England will draw a lot confidence from the hat-trick that he got against the US in the previous match. Chris Jordan also did a brilliant job against India in the previous meeting in T20 WC semi-final.

Besides the previous record, the wicket might also help Jordan. He looks to mostly hit the surface and deceive the batters with his variaion in pace and length. This type of bowling might come handy on the Guyana wicket, especially towards the end of the innings.

3. Adil Rashid

The Englis leg-spinner has bolwed a couple of good spells in the tournament. Though Adil Rashid has lacked a bit consistency in the tournament, he has mostly been decent with the ball. On a slowish wicket at the Providence Stadium in Guyana, Adil Rashid might prove to lethal in the middle-overs.
