The IPL 2025 mega auction saw some major departures from the Rajasthan Royals (RR), sending waves of shock among fans and experts. They retained a total of six players at the retention deadline and banked mostly on the youngsters. Sanju Samson, Dhruv Jurel and Riyal Parag were amongst some notable retentions.

In three seasons with Rajasthan Royals, Boult had taken 45 wickets, testifying to his ability in delivering consistently both with new ball and at death.
He previously played a key role in their 2020 title-winning campaign by taking 25 wickets. He then further followed up with 13 wickets in 2021 before switching to Rajasthan Royals in 2022. Boult's impact with the new ball remains unmatched. His pairing with Jasprit Bumrah is met with huge expectations, and hence, the Kiwi has every reason to unleash that MVP-level performance in Mumbai.

His exploits include the 2022 Orange Cap victory, where he scored a staggering 862 runs in 17 matches, becoming the first player to win the accolade twice.
During the mega auction, Gujarat Titans bagged the Englishmen for INR 15.75 crore. There was fierce bidding in the auction, with RR and LSG fighting it out before GT emerged successful. Buttler is a seasoned campaigner who has aced batting in Indian conditions. Now for GT, Buttler can wreak havoc with Shubman Gill at the top.
