The Indian team suffered a major scare during the second day of the fifth and final Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The ace Indian pacer and the stand-in skipper of the team for the game, Jasprit Bumrah was seen leaving the stadium for a scan. Though what the concern was and how he is at present is not clear, the instance as concerning for the Indian team.

Another set of management will keep an eye on the development besides India and that is Mumbai Indians. With the IPL 2025 coming up, Bumrah is expected to play a key role for the five time IPL champions during the tournament. Besides Bumrah, there are a few players who are injury prone and who could miss the upcoming edition of the major league. 

3. Hardik Pandya

The current MI skipper has had a history with injuries. Hardik Pandya was ruled out of the ODI World Cup 2023 due to injury. He made a comeback after that to deliver an impactful performance during India's championship run during the T20 World Cup 2024. 

However, this was not the sole instance of Pandya's career getting plagued by an injury. In fact in the last three or four years, Pandya has been out of action due to a couple of major injuries. With his history of injuries and his frequency of being ruled out, there is a chance that the player could suffer once more ahead of the next season of IPL and gets ruled out from the tournament. 

2. Deepak Chahar

A majority of the MI fans were surprised when the franchise secured the services of the Indian pacer during the IPL 2025 auction. Deepak Chahar is known for his abilities with the new ball and frequency of his wickets when the cherry is brand new. However, he is also known for the frequency of his injuries and this one of the reasons that the MI fans were surprised. 

For the last two or three seasons, we have seen that Chahar has been making comeback from injuries during the IPL and his campaigns suffering because of him not being 100%. The history of Chahar with injuries his not great and he could be one of those players who gets taken out of the action due to an injury.

The Indian ace pacer is also the leader of the MI contingent. Jasprit Bumrah has generally been fit during his career barring one major issue ahead of IPL 2022. But the fact that Bumrah was seen suffering some concerns during the fifth Test at Sydney, Mumbai Indians might be left thinking about their lead bowler. 

Though there has been no official update about the latest concern of Bumrah, given the stress he has taken for India in the ongoing season and the load he might have to take with CT 2025 coming up, Bumrah could be sidelined during the upcoming edition of the tournament.
