This evening, Mumbai Indians (MI) will cross swords against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 63rd group-stage match of the IPL 2025 season. The much-anticipated affair is set to be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. 

It's worth mentioning that both MI and DC are currently alive in the IPL 2025 playoffs race. While Hardik Pandya's MI claim the fourth spot with 14 points, the Capitals are placed just below them, with thirteen points to their name. 

As both teams gear up for a cracking encounter, let's see how this game can decide the fourth qualifying team for the next round. 

How Can MI And DC Enter IPL 2025 Playoffs?

Mumbai Indians (MI)

  • Mumbai Indians have two matches remaining- one against DC and the other against Punjab Kings. 
  • If they win both matches, the Hardik Pandya-led outfit will finish the group stage with 18 points and qualify for the playoffs. 
  • If MI win versus DC tonight but incur a defeat against PBKS, then also they will enter the next round, as the Capitals can have a maximum of 15 points even after a win against Punjab. 
  • However, if MI lose today, they must win against PBKS and hope for the latter to defeat DC, so that they can get a wildcard entry into the playoffs. 

Delhi Capitals (DC)

  • Delhi Capitals have two matches remaining- one against MI and the other against Punjab Kings. 
  • If they win both matches, the Axar Patel-led side will finish the group-stage with 17 points and qualify for the playoffs. 
  • If DC emerge victorious tonight but lose their final game vs PBKS, then they will pray for the latter's win over MI to ensure their entry into the playoffs. 
  • However, if DC lose today, they will get eliminated from the competition, as their win over PBKS can take their tally to 15 points.
