In a significant development, Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal has requested the IPL to shift the upcoming clash against Mumbai Indians, with rain set to play spoilsport at Wankhede Stadium. Led by Axar Patel, DC are set to take on MI in a virtual knockout game tonight.

Parth Jindal Writes To IPL For Relocation Of DC vs MI Match

For the unversed, the BCCI shifted the upcoming RCB vs SRH match to Lucknow due to the prediction of rain and thunderstorms in Bengaluru on the match day. Considering rain is also predicted for the DC vs MI encounter, the Capitals owner, on Tuesday, mailed the IPL, urging the administrators to move the game away from Mumbai.

"The forecast in Mumbai is for heavy rains and there is a strong likelihood that the game will be washed out. Just as the game between RCB vs SRH has been moved out of Bengaluru in the quest for consistency and in the interest of the league it is my request that tomorrow's game also be moved to a different location as we have known for the better part of 6 days that the forecast for 21st in Mumbai is for heavy showers," DC owner Parth Jindal wrote as reported by ESPNCricinfo.

Delhi Capitals had a stellar start to the IPL 2025 season only to lose their momentum and eventually find themselves on the verge of a group-stage elimination. The upcoming face-off against MI is a do-or-die game for DC, as another defeat will ensure their exit from the competition.

On the other hand, if the game ends in a washout, both teams will earn a point each. Thus, DC and MI will still be alive in the playoffs race, with their final encounter against Punjab Kings deciding the fourth team for the next round.
