The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) bought the most expensive player in the history of IPL when they purchased the services of Rishabh Pant for INR 27 crore. LSG have invested shrewdly in their side and built an interesting team for next season.

The Lucknow based franchise released some of their best players including KL Rahul and in return have tried and invested in youth, which has been their go-to policy in the last couple of years.

Pant-Pooran explosiveness

In Rishabh Pant, and Nicholas Pooran, the LSG side has two of the best power-hitters of the game. Both are floaters and can exchange their batting positions depending on the match situation.

Pooran, time and again has shown his class in the IPL for LSG and will be the key once again. When on song, there is no better striker of the cricket ball than the West Indian batter. Add Pant's flamboyance in the mixture and LSG have two of the best left-handed batters in the same team.

Quality overseas options in the squad

Apart from Pooran, the squad also boasts other quality overseas players like David Miller, who will come in the middle order, alongside Mitch Marsh, and Aiden Markram. Almost all the foreign players are utility based players and can be drafted in the playing XI according to the pitch conditions.

On paper, LSG have one of the best foreign players in the league, and it will be interesting to see how they'll use them all. Marsh can open, he can also bat in the middle-order. Similary, Markram can also open, and can also chip in with quality 4 overs.

Economical spin bowling options

Ravi Bishnoi, M Siddharth and Shabaz Ahmed are three quality spin bowlers and each provide different dynamism. While Bishnoi is a wily leg-spinner , Siddharth is a quality left-arm orthodox bowler and Shahbaz will bowl 4 overs of left-arm spin, giving flight in the air, tempting the batters to step out and hit.
