Shikhar Dhawan, the former cricketer known for his vibrant personality both on and off the field, once again gained limelight with his heartwarming act during the recently concluded Big Cricket League (BCL) 2024. The Delhi batter, showcased his concern for a young fan after the latter was injured by a ball hit into the stands during a semi-final match in Surat.
The incident occurred during the second semi-final between Southern Spartans and Northern Challengers. In the contest, the ball was struck high into the stands and unfortunately hit a young fan on the chest. While the injury did not appear serious, Dhawan checked the fan’s condition.

In a video that went viral on the internet, Shikhar Dhawan, noticed the young fan being attended to in the stands. Without a second thought, he made his way toward the injured fan and, from a few steps below, threw a water bottle toward him as a gesture of care.
Shikhar Dhawan’s Significant Performance In BCL 2024
Shikhar Dhawan retired from international cricket in August, with his last appearance for the national team in 2022. The left-hander was dropped from the squad after a prolonged dip in form.
After his retirement announcement this year, Dhawan participated in the Nepal Premier League (NPL), playing for the Karnali Yaks. He played in four matches, and made 301 runs at an impressive strike rate of 198.02. His stellar form continued from the first match of the BCL 2024, where he made 86 runs off 43 balls against the Southern Spartans.
Despite his fiery performances, his team was eventually knocked out by the Southern Spartans in the semi-finals.
