Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are walking into the IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah with a nice stack of cash ₹45 crore and a strong core of players already locked in. They’ve got heavyweights like Heinrich Klaasen, Pat Cummins, Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, and young gun Nitish Kumar Reddy.

Last season, they made it all the way to the finals, so they’re definitely doing something right. But this time, they’ll be looking to add some extra firepower, especially in the all-rounder department.

With a bit of smart planning and some good luck, Sunrisers Hyderabad could be a serious threat this season. Here are three all-rounders, whom SRH will target during the IPL 2025 mega auction.

3. Krunal Pandya

Why Will SRH Target Krunal Pandya?

Krunal Pandya could be the perfect fit for SRH. LSG let him go, which might just be SRH’s gain. Krunal’s got that street-smart edge. He can bowl four tight overs and knows how to keep the batters quiet. Plus, he can step up and smash it with the bat when needed. He’s got a career economy of 7.37, and he’s taken 76 wickets in the IPL. His strike rate with the bat is 132.82, which shows he’s no slouch with the bat either.

In a star-studded squad that’s already laden with with big overseas names, Krunal’s all-round skills would be the ideal local touch. He’s reliable, experienced, and knows the game inside out. Krunal can slot right into the middle overs with his bowling, adding stability, and when it comes to batting, he’s got the power to finish things off. SRH could really use someone like Krunal to keep things balanced.

2. Glenn Phillips

Why Will SRH Target Glenn Phillips?

SRH’s top and middle order look solid, but they’re missing that late-game firepower. This is where Glenn Phillips comes in. He’s known for his big hitting in the final overs and can turn the game around in a flash. He was with SRH before, but with players like Markram, Klaasen, Cummins, and Head in the pecking order, he didn’t get much time on the field. Now that Markram’s gone, there’s a real chance for Phillips to make his mark.

Phillips isn’t just a power-hitter; he’s an all-rounder who can roll his arm over for a couple of useful overs. His bowling has come a long way, and he’s a fantastic fielder, always ready to pull off those jaw-dropping catches. Phillips has the power, the skills, and the attitude. He’s exactly what SRH needs to seal the deal in those tight games.

1. Venkatesh Iyer

Why Will SRH Target Venkatesh Iyer?

If there’s one all-rounder SRH should go all in for, it’s former KKR man, Venkatesh Iyer. The southpaw has been consistent for Kolkata in the last two seasons, scoring 404 runs in 2023 and 370 in 2024. He can hit the big shots and he also knows how to keep the scoreboard ticking. While he hasn’t bowled much lately, he’s been working on his medium pace, which could be really handy for SRH in the middle overs.

Having Iyer in the team would be a huge plus for SRH, especially because he’s an Indian all-rounder. This gives SRH more flexibility with their overseas players. Iyer’s presence would also mean that he and Nitish Kumar Reddy could handle the fifth bowler’s duties together. SRH doesn’t just need a batter or a bowler, they need someone who can do a bit of everything, and Iyer fits that bill perfectly.
