The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) entered the IPL mega auction with the second largest purse and made some shrewd buys at the auction table. This time around, they didn't bid for any superstar names, rather targeted underrated gems.

The team management identified the key weak points and worked upon them as this time around, a plethora of underrated stars were brought by the team.

Ahead of the next IPL season which commences in March, we look at their 3 underrated players who could turn out to be brilliant match-winners for the team.

3) Suyash Sharma

When the names pop up regarding quality IPL spinners, Suyash Sharma actually goes under the radar. The wily spinner is an underrated gem and was pivotal for KKR in the 2023 season.

The spin bowler grabbed 10 wickets in the league, at an economy of just 8.23. Recently in the SMAT 2024, he was excellent with his economy rate and will be pivotal as RCB have lacked a quality spinner since Yuzvendra Chahal left the team in 2022. Unlike KKR, here at RCB, he will be the main spinners, and it provides a great opportunity for him to showcase his skills.

2) Nuwan Thushara

Known as the replica of Lasith Malinga, RCB were smart enough to buy Thushara for just 1.6 crore in the auction. He has an action similar to Malinga and could turn out to be a mystery bowler for the opposition batters purely on the basis of his uncanny bowling action.

Plus, the team needs a quality yorker specialist and Thushara has learnt the art of yorkers from Malinga, and thus, he could be pivotal in RCB's title aspirations.

1) Jacob Bethell

Another underrated player that the RCB side have bought. The team composition required a left-handed batter in the middle-order and for 2.6 crore, Jacob Bethell was the answer. He can score runs quickly, and already has gained international experience.

He is an explosive batter and if used wisely can be a genuine match-winner for the RCB team. He is equally good against pace and spin and that maks him a threat for the opposition.
