The Mumbai Indians had a torrid start to IPL 2024. They lost their first three matches, and it looked like the campaign would soon be over for them. However, it is Mumbai Indians, and you can never count them out. The Hardik Pandya-led unit won their next two games convincingly and have made a roaring comeback. This young Indian left-hand batter has impressed a lot since his inclusion in the MI set-up. Tilak Varma has done an excellent job in his chances in IPL 2024. 

His record against CSK is something that makes him a vital cog in the MI mechanism for this game. In the three innings that he has batted against CSK, Tilak Varma has scored 107 runs at a strike rate of 115.1 while being dismissed only once. At Wankhede, Varma has scored 56 runs in two innings against CSK at a strike rate of 112 while being dismissed only once. 

Rohit Sharma

Even though Rohit Sharma has no big score under his belt in IPL 2024, the former MI skipper has looked good with the bat in the tournament. He is batting with a good strike rate and that has helped the team establish their authority in the initial stages of a game. 

Sharma’s numbers are not brilliant against CSK. But when it comes to batting against them at Wankhede, Sharma has decent numbers. He has scored 341 runs in 10 innings at an average of 37.9 and a strike rate of 135.9. However, Rohit has not scored a fifty against CSK in the last five editions and he will be looking to work on that in this game. 

Suryakumar Yadav

The return of Surkakumar Yadav has worked wonders for MI. They have won both matches in which Surya was on the team. He will once again be crucial for MI in this game. 

Much like Rohit Sharma, Surya also does not have a great overall record against CSK. But when it comes to playing against at Wankhede, Surya has done a decent job. In three innings, SKY has scored 103 runs at an average of 34.3 and a strike rate of 139.2 against CSK at Wankhede. He will be coming into this game on the back of a brilliant half-century against RCB, and thus, we can hope that he will emerge as the match-winner for his team.
