Two arch-rivals, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, will lock horns with each other in the 29th group-stage match of the ongoing Indian Premier League season.

Under Hardik Pandya's leadership, Mumbai Indians had a poor start to their IPL 2024 campaign, incurring crushing defeats on three consecutive occasions.

However, they managed to turn things around, securing clinical wins over RCB and DC, riding on spectacular all-round performances from their troops.

While MI's batting unit has stepped up to the occasion, with Ishan, Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav bringing up their A-game, their bowlers, apart from Jasprit Bumrah, have been abysmal, to say the least.

Young seamer Akash Madhwal, who recorded a spectacular three-fer in MI's third group-stage match against Rajasthan Royals, had horrendous outings against RCB and DC, picking a single wicket for 102 runs in eight overs.

However, considering his immense potential, the MI think tank will likely persist with Madhwal, keeping the winning combination intact for this match.

So, if MI bat first, Suryakumar Yadav will be in the playing XI, with Madhwal replacing him in the second half as the impact substitute.

On the contrary, if MI bowl first, Surya, who struck a 17-ball fifty vs RCB, will be used as the impact substitute in the latter phase of the game.
