Starting the tournament with consecutive defeats, Gujarat Giants are keen to reverse their fortunes as they take on UP Warriorz in the eighth match of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday.

Having faced formidable opponents like Mumbai Indians Women and Royal Challengers Bangalore Women in their first two matches, the Beth Mooney-led Giants endured a challenging start to their campaign. They'll look to win this encounter to bag two crucial points and kick-start their season.

In their previous outing, the Giants struggled to find their rhythm, managing only 107 runs for the loss of seven wickets. 

Failing to defend this modest total, they were defeated by eight wickets. The team management will be optimistic about a better display from both bat and ball in this all-important fixture against the Warriorz.

The batting lineup relies heavily on skipper Mooney, along with Harleen Deol, Veda Krishnamurthy, and Ashleigh Gardner, to accumulate runs effectively.

Meanwhile, the bowling unit looks to Sneh Rana, Meghna Singh, Lea Tahuhu, Gardner, and Tanuja Kanwar for crucial breakthroughs throughout the innings.
