Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali Dropped; Mohammad Nawaz In? Here's Pakistan's Playing XI Vs England

On Saturday, Pakistan will take on England in their final league-stage game of the ongoing World Cup. The high-voltage clash will be played at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Talking about Pakistan, the Men in Green have blown hot and cold in the competition, occupying the fifth position in the standings with four wins in eight appearances. Although Fakhar Zaman's blistering knock in the last game gave them a glimmer of hope, their semifinal dream almost shattered last night, with New Zealand crushing Sri Lanka in Bengaluru.

So, moving on to this match, Pakistan have to pull off a nearly impossible task- defeating the Englishmen by 287 runs or chase a 300-run target inside six overs- to qualify for the semifinal. Therefore, their World Cup campaign is over; however, they would like to finish the tournament on a high note by drubbing England, who have been a pale shadow of themselves so far.

Shaheen, Rauf Or Hasan; who will be dropped?

In the last match, Pakistan fielded four seamers in their playing XI, considering the flatness of the Bengaluru surface. However, spinners have found ample assistance at the Eden Gardens, so Babar Azam and co. might think to replace a pacer with Usama Mir, who was impressive with the ball against South Africa.

While Mohammad Wasim Jr performed well against the Kiwis, Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf will likely to be persisted with despite going for plenty of runs in the last match. In such a scenario, Pakistan might rope Usama Mir in for Hasan Ali, who conceded 82 runs in his ten-over spell vs New Zealand.

Also, considering how Ravindra Jadeja and Keshav Maharaj bowled at the venue in the last game, it won't be surprising if Pakistan bring Mohammad Nawaz in, benching Agha Salman.

Pakistan's probable playing XI vs England

Fakhar Zaman, Abdullah Shafique, Babar Azam (C), Mohammad Rizwan (WK), Saud Shakeel, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Usama Mir, Haris Rauf
