Mumbai Indians players in IPL 2024 (X.com)
Mumbai Indians registered a much-needed win against Delhi Capitals in their previous game after losing initial three games, and would be looking to continue that winning momentum against a struggling RCB unit.
The Faf du Plessis-led unit have won only one game out of the five they have played, and would be low on confidence as they take on five-time champions at the iconic Wankhede Stadium.
So, let's see what could be the possible changes in the MI team combinat ahead of the high-ticket encounter.
In the last game against DC at Wankhede, their batting clicked as a unit and they ended up smashing 234 on the board. The fact that no batter scored over 50, talks a lot about the collective effort with Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, David and Romario Shepherd all playing impactful knocks.
The return of Shepherd especially was a game-changer as the Caribbean lad slammed 39 off 10 balls and took an important wicket as well, to put MI on the front foot. Akash Madhwal had a rare bad game but Gerald Coetzee and Bumrah picked six wickets between them which are great signs for MI.
However, there is a scope of bringing in Kumar Kartikeya in place of Piyush Chawla. The leg-spinner has not been in best of form this season and gave away 32 runs in two overs against DC.
Also, RCB have lot of right-handers who tend to struggle against left-arm spinners, so Kumar Kartikeya might finally get his first game against on 11th of April.
