Australia has just emerged from a memorable win against India in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. They will now be looking to dominate international cricket even more in the coming days with their momentum.
Notably, Australia have qualified for the WTC 2023-25 cycle's fina. However, before that, they will have another big assignment in the Champions Trophy 2025. It is expected that most of the regular members of the ODI squad, like - Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis, will be back for them. With these players coming back into the side, there will be a few of the emerging stars who might not get selected for the tournament.
3. Aaron Hardie

This young Australian all-rounder has impressed with his overall effectiveness in the BBL. Aaron Hardie's displays earned him a place in the Australian side, and in the absence of some of the key members of the team, he did a good job. However, it is expected that Mitchell Marsh, Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell will be back on the ODI side, and hence, Aaron Hardie might not board the flight for CT 2025.
2. Cooper Connolly

The young Australian has impressed recently with his brilliant shows with the bat. Cooper Connolly has been superbly consistent in the ongoing edition of the BBL. While his batting has been impressive, he could also be effective for the team with some efficient overs of left-arm spin. However, given that proven international performers are making a comeback, Connolly might not get a place in the squad for CT 2025.
1. Jake Fraser-McGurk
The young Australian batter impressed with his ruthless aggression in the last edition of the BBL. Jake Fraser-McGurk showed a lot of promise to become the impactful opener for Australia. However, since his arrival at the highest level of cricket, JFM has failed to impress and stand up for the promise. He is also not in the best of forms recently. Given his string of not-so-impressive performances, Australia might look to exclude him from the CT 2025 squad.
