With the series on the line for the men in blue the Providence stadium in Guyana will once again host the decisive 3rd T20 between West Indies and India with the hosts in a comfortable position as they are leading the series 2-0. The West Indies have surprised the Indians with their performance in the first two games where they got the better of the visitors in the two close encounters played so far.

West Indies have done well so far where their bowlers haven’t allowed the Indian batsmen to score freely and with Pooran and Powell giving the proper base to their batting line-up are able to put up great scores. The Indians have been struggling in this T20 series with their batsmen failing to build partnerships and bowlers are forced to work harder. The Indians will look to come back stronger and keep their chances in the series alive whereas the West indies will look to continue their dominance.

Run-Riot Rivalry: India vs West Indies in the Ultimate Strike Rate Clash

The strike rates of both teams paint a clear picture of how this series has unfolded. The powerplay has been a crucial stage where West Indies outperformed India significantly. Despite the top three West Indies batsmen underperforming, Pooran and Powell's positive approach compensated for the early wickets. Their aggressive intent against the bowlers resulted in an impressive powerplay strike rate of 159.7.

On the other hand, Indian batsmen not only lost early wickets but also struggled to accumulate runs, leading to a modest powerplay strike rate of only 101.39. The middle overs have been a challenging phase for both teams, with India having a strike rate of 117.6 and West Indies with 106.6, explaining why they couldn't post imposing totals.

However, both teams have performed similarly in the death overs, with India having a strike rate of 125 and West Indies at 120.75. These numbers reveal that West Indies gained an advantage over India in the series due to their crucial runs in the powerplay, resulting in the low-scoring encounters we've witnessed so far.

Top Order Turmoil: India and West Indies Struggle Upfront

We have seen throughout this series about how West Indies had an edge over the Indians but both the sides share a common ground on their top order underperforming. Brandon King and Kyle Mayers have shown how dangerous they can be in the T20 franchise leagues but haven’t looked good in this series so far for the West Indies and Johnson Charles with all that experience hasn’t looked threatening as well.

On the other hand the Gill-Kishan show hasn’t worked well compared to the ODI series and the form of Suryakumar Yadav in this series hasn’t been great. With three games left in this series it is important for the top order for both the teams to step up to the plate.

Conclusion

In conclusion even though the West Indies have the upper hand in this series so far the Indians are still not out of the game and will still try to come back from the double setback which they have faced after their years of dominance. On the other hand the West Indies will look to assert their dominance further and win their first series versus India after years of struggle.
