West Indies' continued strong performance in the second T20I against India, as they escaped narrowly by 2 wickets, and showcased their determination and skills. Nicholas Pooran's magnificent knock of 67 runs played a pivotal role in their victory, demonstrating his prowess as a capable and impactful batsman.

India opted to bat first in the second T20I, although again they did not have the good start, as Gill lost his wicket early in the third over, Ishan Kishan's contributions, although brief, added some valuable runs to the total. 

However, it was debutant Tilak Verma who emerged as a standout performer for India. Scoring his debut fifty, His innings played a crucial role in stabilising the innings and ensuring that India reached a respectable score of 152 runs.


While chasing the score, West Indies lost two wickets in the first over itself, but it was Nicholas Pooran's aggressive approach and ability to find the boundaries ensured that West Indies remained in control of the required run-rate. 

Yuzvendra Chahal's efforts in the 16th over, where he managed to pick up 2 wickets, injected some tension into the match and gave India a glimmer of hope. However, Akeal Hosein's composure and nerve in the closing stages of the chase ensured that West Indies secured the victory.

Nicholas Pooran's blitzing knock of 67 runs proved to be the main difference at the end between both the teams, Scoring 67 runs, Pooran's innings was characterised by his ability to find the boundaries, hitting 6 fours and 4 sixes. His aggressive approach and ability to time his shots effectively allowed him to build crucial innings for his team.

Despite a slightly shaky start where he looked a bit scratchy in the initial deliveries he faced, Pooran quickly regained his timing and rhythm. His ability to adapt and adjust his approach after a few deliveries showcased his cricketing acumen. 

A pivotal moment in his innings was when he hit a six in the third over, which seemed to be a turning point that boosted his confidence and allowed him to settle into his batting.

Throughout his innings, Pooran displayed remarkable control over his shots, with around 80 percent of his balls hitting the middle of the bat. This control enabled him to consistently find the gaps and the boundaries, ultimately contributing significantly to West Indies' chase.

It's worth noting that even in the midst of his aggressive intent, Pooran encountered a few challenges. He edged a couple of deliveries and also got beaten by a few deliveries initially. However, his ability to overcome these challenges and regain his composure highlighted his mental strength and determination.
