The wait is finally over for all Delhi Capitals fans as IPL has released the retention list of all teams for IPL 2026. The Axar Patel-led side had a mixed IPL 2025, where they started off on a positive note, but fell midway through the tournament and failed to qualify for the playoffs.
Considering the past season in mind, Delhi Capitals have offloaded seven players, whom they felt aren't contributing enough to the team's success and growth. For Delhi Capitals, they had bought 23 players during 2025 mega-auction, which includes seven overseas talents.

Delhi Capitals have released eight players for IPL 2026. The most noticeable names are Faf Du Plessis and Jake Fraser-McGurk. Further, the Capitals have also released a late replacement Sediquallah Atal, who was roped in as Harry Brook's replacement.
