After conquering Perth in an emphatic fashion, Team India have embarked on a new journey as the Pink-ball challenge awaits for them in Adelaide Oval, the same venue where the Indian side got bundled out for just 36 runs.
However, this time around, the side is well prepared and have already played a Pink-ball warm-up match against Prime Minister's XI, which they eventually won. Out of all the 4 remaining Tests, the Adelaide one will provide a stern test for the Indian side, despite them winning the first Test comfortably.
The movement under lights will test them and the batters will need to be on their toes at all the times. The first view of the pitch is out, and we decode the pitch report for the second Test.
Adelaide Oval pitch report for Pink-Ball Test
Looking at the pitch, not much can be decoded, but in general, the Pink-ball Tests have often tested the batters' skills, and it won't be different in the upcoming clash.
Tradiotionally, the Adelaide surface has been a paradise for the batters as truckloads of runs were scored at this venue. However, the equation changes in a day-night match. As the sun sets down, the Pink-ball tends to behave differently with plenty of help for the pace bowlers.
When the floodlights are on, the ball seams and swings and it provides a different challenge for the batters. Unlike a red ball, the batters need to play the Pink ball a bit later to negate the extra seam movement on offer. It could be a better batting surface in the afternoon, but the pacers will enjoy the outing as soon as the Sun sets.
