To the delight of cricket fans across the globe, the eighteenth season of the Indian Premier League is all set to kickstart on March 22. With the lucrative title at stake, ten formidable teams will lock horns with each other in 78 matches, including the knockouts. 

As the IPL 2025 nears, here are five potential debutants who can light up the tournament with their performances. 

1. Priyansh Arya - PBKS

• Swashbuckling Delhi batter Priyansh Arya was purchased by Punjab Kings for INR 3.80 crores. 
• He recently showcased remarkable form in the DPL 2025, scoring 608 runs at a superb average of 67.56 and a blistering strike rate of 198.69. 
• He was also impressive in the SMAT 2024-25, amassing 325 runs at an average of 40.63 and a strike rate of 176.63. He is in red-hot form and might open the batting for PBKS if Josh Inglis or Prabhsimran Singh fails to deliver. 
• Considering his potential and recent form, we reckon Priyansh can be a real threat to the opponents due to his fearless batting approach.

2. Jacob Bethell - RCB

• Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured the services of Jacob Bethell, purchasing the English star for INR 2.6 Crores in the mega auction. 
• Bethell could be the linchpin of RCB's middle order in the IPL 2025, being one of the two left-handers, including Krunal Pandya. 
• Bethell's spin-hitting prowess could be a boon for the Red Brigade and his recent form promises a great maiden appearance for the southpaw.

3. Ryan Rickelton - MI

• Stylish South African opener Ryan Rickelton joined Mumbai Indians as the franchise secured his services for INR 1 Crore. 
• He will likely keep wickets and open the batting with Indian captain Rohit Sharma. Rickelton is in prolific form, having showcased his mettle for MI Cape Town in the SA20 2025 (336 runs, average 48.00, SR 178.72).

4. Xavier Bartlett - PBKS

• He was purchased by Punjab Kings for INR 75 Lakhs. In the BBL 2024-25, Bartlett was the Heat's second-highest wicket-taker with twelve scalps to his name. So, considering his ability and form, we reckon he could be a game-changer for PBKS in IPL 2025. 

5. Aniket Verma - SRH

• Madhya Pradesh's dynamic batter Aniket Verma lit up the MP T20 last year, amassing 273 runs at a superb average and strike rate. 
• He is known for his aggressive hitting, and SRH could use him as a surprise package in the middle order. 
• Aniket Verma is steadily making the headlines with his flamboyant hitting in the intra-squad matches. So, given the talent he has, it won't be surprising if he becomes a household name during the IPL 2025.
