After so much hype and anticipation, the Champions Trophy 2025 is set to commence from February 19 as the hosts, Pakistan will collide against New Zealand in the tournament opener. It will be followed by tournament favourites India battling it out Vs Bangladesh at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The Champions Trophy has a rich history and the tournament has witnessed some classic performances over the years. In 2017 edition, Hasan Ali stole the show and was declare the Player of the Tournament. In the edition prior to 2017, it was the Indian superstar, Shikhar Dhawan, who finished as the top run-getter and became the Man of the Tournament.

The upcoming Champions Trophy has some great players playing, and here are 3 potential cricketers who could be crowned the Player of the Tournament.

The poster boy of Indian cricket, Shubman Gill has taken the game by storm and averages nearly 60 in the ODI format. He has carved a name for himself in this format and the pitches in Dubai will suit his style of batting.

Recently he was named the Player of the Series Vs England and is in stunning form heading into the mega event. India are one of the favourites for the event and for them to win the trophy, Gill needs to play his part, and in all likelihood, the in-form player could be the Player of the Tournament, once the event ends.

2) Shaheen Afridi

The leader of Pakistan's bowling attack, Shaheen Afridi has been in red-hot form as of late and has taken bulk of wickets for his team in the recently concluded tri-nation series. He will play in his home conditions and will know about the surfaces on the back of his hands.

Pakistan are one of the other tournament favourites and if they do win the competition, Shaheen is likely to have a big role in it, and could be a potential Player of the Tournament candidate.

3) Heinrich Klaasen

There is no ground which is too big for Heinrich Klaasen and the South African batter will fancy his chances of taking down bowling attacks on placid wickets in Pakistan.

He is South Africa's man in form as the batter has scored 4 fifties in the last 4 innings, and will be the prized wicket for the opposition bowlers. The surfaces in Pakistan will suit his aggressive style of batting and he is someone who can single-handedly turn things around in the blink of an eye.
