James Anderson, the former England cricketer, has asserted that he is keen on exploring the world of T20 cricket, having retired from international cricket last month.

Anderson, last played a T20I game for England in 2009, and the ODI cricket in 2015. Since then, he has concentrated on red-ball cricket to prolong his career. However, now with the retirement done and dusted, Anderson is willing to explore franchise cricket.

Interestingly, Anderson has never played in IPL. Now, since he is thinking about exploring the world of T20 cricket, there could be a possibility that he comes in for a season and gets the much needed experience.

So, in this piece, we look at 3 teams that could target Anderson, if he decides to put his name in IPL auction.

3 IPL Teams Where James Anderson Perfectly Fits In

Chennai Super Kings

CSK have a history of picking up experienced players in their side. They have a general formula of including players, who can contribute in more than one role. Anderson, despite playing just 44 T20s, has truckloads of experience as a leader.

He can be a guiding force for the inexperience CSK pace attack, and perfectly fits in the 'Dady's army, as CSK are often called.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru

RCB have a history of picking players without looking at the pitch conditions in Chinnaswamy. They pick players on the basis of reputation and not skills. Anderson has a great history with RCB legend, Virat Kohli, and the team management might be tempted to include the England great in their ranks.

Delhi Capitals

DC desperately needs experience in their bowling attack, and Anderson could be the answer to that. With Anrich Nortje struggling, and DC only having Indian bowling core in pace attack, Anderson could play as a mentor/player, a role which the late Shane Warne played to perfection.

His craftsmanship with swing bowling could be useful on a Delhi surface, which lacks the cutting-edge for the fast bowlers.
