On the eve of the Manchester Test between India and England at Old Trafford, Ben Stokes spoke to the press, where the England captain opined his views on sledging, things getting heated up in the 3rd Test, and also his workload management.

What Happened In The Third Test?

The Lord's Test will go down in history as one of the best Test matches as England won the match by just 22 runs. It was a nail-biting thriller, where words were exchanged between two teams and witnessed a lot of sledging and verbal altercations.

The match brought out the unseen version of both teams, where players were pumped up and even pointed fingers at each other.

Ben Stokes Vows To Not Start Any Sledge

In the latest event, speaking to the press, he remarked that England will not start any heated altercation, but his boys will also not back down from any verbal battle if started by India.

"Massive series, heat will be shown. We are not going to purposely go out there and go at it (altercation) because that can take the focus away, but won't take a backward step." remarked Stokes as quoted by Sahil Malhotra of Times Of India

Ben Stokes Speaks About His Workload

England skipper led from the front in the Lord's Test, where he hogged the internet for bowling two spells of ten overs each, which is a remarkable feat and shows the level of fitness.

The spell was hailed on the internet, and even Mohammed Siraj praised Stokes for his commitment. It started a workload debate on social media, and in the latest events, the England captain has broken his silence on the matter and stated that he was in bed for just two straight days.

"I was in my bed for two days… felt like in a long-distance relationship with my family," Stokes added.

The series is on line for India as the visitors are trailing 1-2 and a defeat in Manchester would end the dream to clinch a series in England.
