In what has been described as one of the most shocking results in recent cricket history, Bangladesh secured a 2-0 series whitewash against Pakistan on their home turf.

The series concluded with Bangladesh clinching a six-wicket victory in the second Test at Rawalpindi, despite the first day being washed out due to rain.

This defeat shattered Pakistan’s previously unblemished record against Bangladesh in Test cricket, where they had won all 12 encounters before this series.

For Bangladesh, it marked their first-ever series win in Pakistan and only their second Test series victory on foreign soil.

Rashid Latif's Scathing Critique

The surprising defeat has sent shockwaves through the cricketing world, prompting strong reactions from former players and experts alike. Among the most vocal critics is former Pakistan wicketkeeper Rashid Latif, who did not mince words while expressing his frustration.

Latif, who has often been outspoken about the state of Pakistan cricket, placed the blame squarely on the shoulders of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and its recent leadership.

"Jitne bhi chairman aaye hain, woh tabah kar rahe hain last four years se (whoever became the chairman in the last four years has demolished Pakistan cricket)," Latif stated during his show 'Caught Behind'.

His criticism wasn't limited to the players on the field but extended to the administrators off it. Latif questioned the PCB's decision-making, particularly the controversial changes in captaincy that have left the team in disarray.

Rashid Latif slams PCB's decision

Latif’s sharpest barbs were aimed at former PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf and the decision to replace Babar Azam as captain with Shaheen Afridi in limited-overs formats.

"Who brought him (Shan Masood) as (Test) captain? Who removed Babar Azam (from captaincy)? Who divided the Pakistan team?" Latif asked, highlighting the chaos within the team due to these abrupt changes.

Latif accused the PCB of deliberately destabilising the team for personal gain, arguing that these decisions were made without considering the long-term impact on Pakistan cricket.

He also criticised the lack of accountability within the PCB, suggesting that the position of chairman should not be honorary and that stringent checks should be in place to prevent such turmoil.
