The biggest festival of Test cricket is coming as the World Test Championship Final resumes in just a few days. After an outstanding cycle, Australia and South Africa are set to cross swords on the big stage, eyeing the coveted trophy.

As the high-voltage nears, Australian batter Beau Webster is gearing up for the big clash. Despite stiff competition, he’s leaving no stone unturned to secure his spot in the playing XI.

Webster Battles Hard To Secure Spot For WTC Final

Earlier this year, Australia found another gem as Beau Webster made his Test debut against India in Sydney. In three matches, he scored 150 runs with a crucial half-century. As Australia now gears up for the WTC final against South Africa, Beau Webster sealed a place in the squad for the high-voltage showdown.

Even if he sealed the place, Cameron Green’s re-arrival tightened his chances of featuring in the playing XI of the Ultimate Test. While talking to ICC Digital, he’s determined to prove himself and is proud of the opportunity to stake his claim in the team.

“I'd be hugely proud to represent the country in such a big game. The boys look forward to this fixture, and the two-year cycles means there is a lot of cricket to get to this point, and being a part of that, I'm really proud of. I'll be doing everything I can to try and play and show everyone what I can do,” Webster said.

How His Warwickshire Stint Fuels His Ultimate Test Hopes

Ahead of the WTC final, he has an amazing stint with Warwickshire. In 4 matches, he secured 157 runs and 10 wickets. This impressive all-round performance enabled him to thrive in the English conditions. As he gears up for the ultimate clash, Webster believes this experience will give him the edge he needs to shine in the final.

“I was lucky enough to play four games for Warwickshire in some different conditions with the Dukes ball. I think it was only beneficial for both my batting and bowling, and I feel like I'm hitting the ball as well as I ever have, and hopefully that can continue if I get the nod (against South Africa),” he said.

The World Test Championship Final is going to be staged on June 11 as Australia and South Africa are set to clash on the big stage. Australia will be aiming for their second WTC crown, while South Africa dreams of a historic maiden triumph on the grand stage.
