Former all-rounder and renowned cricket coach Tom Moody reckons that Australia are the favourites to win the World Test Championship final against South Africa. Under the leadership of Pat Cummins, Australia are set to face South Africa in a cracking final at Lord's in London.

Moody Reveals Why Australia Might Win WTC Final vs South Africa

Ahead of the all-important fixture at the home of cricket, cricketer-turned-coach Tom Moody has predicted Australia to clinch their second consecutive WTC mace.

Speaking to Star Sports, Moody revealed that the Australian players have developed nerves of steel, having participated in several finals of the ICC cricket events across formats.

He also thinks that the Australians are mentally tougher than their South African counterparts, having watched their predecessors achieve stellar heights in multiple World Cup editions.

“Historically, many of their players have won multiple ICC tournaments, and they’ve grown up watching previous generations achieve the same success. That winning mentality is ingrained in them,” Moody was quoted as saying by Express Sports.
"The Australians have built that reputation through consistent success in major tournaments. When it comes to ICC events, Australia somehow elevates its game to another level as a team. They genuinely embrace the challenges of tournament cricket and thrive under the pressure of these high-stakes matches,” he added.

Moody is quite accurate in his assessment of the Australians, who are known for bringing out their best game in the ICC finals. Apart from winning six ODI World Cups, Australia have one T20 World Cup, two Champions Trophies and one WTC title in their glorious trophy cabinet.

The last time Australia played the WTC final, they went on to crush title favourites India by 209 runs. If they emerge victorious against South Africa, the Aussies will script history by becoming the first-ever team to be crowned as champions in two successive WTC editions.
