India’s left-arm spinner Radha Yadav believes that her team is just getting started after making history by winning their first-ever T20I series against England on English soil. With the T20 World Cup in sight, Yadav feels the current squad is on to achieve bigger things.
Radha, who was named Player of the Match, picked up two key wickets and helped keep England to just 126 runs. India chased down the target with 18 balls to spare, thanks to solid performances from Shafali Verma, Smriti Mandhana, and Jemimah Rodrigues.
Radha Yadav Motivated For T20 World Cup
The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is slated to begin on June 12, 2026. With a year left to prepare, India Women began their preparations by winning a historic T20I series in England.
After the 4th T20I win, India’s spinner Radha Yadav expressed her excitement and said the team’s spirit and belief were stronger than ever. She believes the current unit is special and can achieve bigger things.
"The belief and the dedication this time is really different. This time this team, this atmosphere, it's magical this is and we are actually onto something. We want to create something big going forward as well and this is the path we want to go down. There are still a lot of things we have to correct, we have that in our mind and but...this is the different team and we are going to dominate no matter what," Yadav told ICC.
Radha, who has already played in four ICC Women’s T20 World Cups at just 25 years old, believes India is ready to dominate world cricket.
The fifth and final T20I will take place in Birmingham on Saturday, but with the series already in the bag, India can celebrate a major milestone in their T20I journey.
Records Broken In India Women's Win Over England
India Women scripted history on Wednesday by defeating England Women by six wickets in the fourth T20I at Old Trafford, clinching the series 3-1.
For the first time ever, India won a bilateral T20I series against England, whether at home or away, a landmark moment in Indian women’s cricket.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur also etched her name in the record books by equalling Mithali Raj’s record for the most international appearances by an Indian woman, 333 matches.
Meanwhile, Deepti Sharma and England’s Sophie Ecclestone both matched Katherine Sciver-Brunt’s record for most wickets in India vs England women’s T20Is, 23 wickets each.
