The Border-Gavaskar Trophy was always going to be a competitive series and it has turned out in the same way with quality cricket from both the teams. India lost the series by a 3-1 margin eventually and plenty of reports regarding Indian team's unhealthy environment have come forward in the last few days.
There have also been reports where it has been claimed that Rohit Sharma will retire or will be forced to retire from the team management. It did not go well with the Indian captain and he lashed out in a recent interview during the SCG Test where Rohit stated that he would not retire by hearing what people say on T.V or write about him.
Rohit added that he can take his decisions on his own as he has played enough cricket and slammed many journalists and cricket pundits indirectly. He did not take any name in his interview, but Gavaskar is one of the former cricketers who seem to have taken the comments personally or quite seriously.
Gavaskar Replies Back To Rohit Sharma In Sarcastic Way
After India's loss in the SCG Test, Gavaskar came up with a massive comment that have raised quite a few eyebrows. The Indian great was asked by broadcaster whether India should play more matches before the tour to prepare better to which Gavaskar came up with a sarcastic comment.
He took a dig at Rohit's comments by stating that he does not know cricket and he just speak for the sake of TV and money. He then went onto target Rohit's comments further by adding that one should listen from one ear and remove from another.
Question - Should India prepare better by playing matches before the tour?
Sunil Gavaskar - Who are we? We don't know cricket. We just speak just for the sake of TV and get money, don't listen to us, we're nothing. Listen from one ear, remove from another. (Star Sports).
It remains to be seen how things shape up after Gavaskar's explosive comments, but things surely are heating up after a disappointing performance against Australia.
