On Tuesday, June 25, Afghanistan scripted history after they beat Bangladesh to reach the T20 World Cup semi-finals for the first time in their history.

The Rashid Khan-led side beat Bangladesh by 8 runs in a rain-affected match to advance further. The game will go down in history as one of the greatest matches in T20 World Cup history  because three teams' qualification relied on the outcome of the game.

With Afghanistan's win, it was also the end of Australia's run in the ongoing World Cup. While the internet was filled with celebrations, the game was marred with controversy, when Gulbadin Naib allegedly 'faked' an injury to delay the game, which was in Afghanistan's favour.

After the game, the internet was divided as a few fans made memes out of it, while others called for action against Naib for deliberately wasting time. Few Australian players were understandably furious with this act, as they were backing Bangladesh to win for them to qualify.

In the latest events, former Australia skipper Michael Clarke defended Naib's act and took a dig at his own team. Clarke stated that Australians can't complain much because they aren't much clean either.

"If the sniper got another player of a different team, not mentioning the team, there would be a bit more circus about it. Just let it go and allow Afghanistan to celebrate this win, I think it is that special to them. I don't think any Australian can be kicking too many stones because we are not squeaky clean when it comes to that type of stuff," Clarke said on ESPN's Around the Wicket.

Clarke also added that he sees Australia making several changes to their playing XI and that David Warner would not be the only player to go out of the team. Also, Afghanistan will play South Africa in the semi-finals on June 27.
