The ODI World Cup 2023 is just around the corner, and cricket fans across the globe are eagerly looking forward to the exhilaration this prestigious event will bring, especially since it is being played in India, a country filled with passionate cricket fans.

However, the excitement for the marquee event was dampened after fans encountered significant issues while trying to book tickets for the highly anticipated tournament.

The ticket sales for the quadrennial event commenced on August 25, with the BCCI outlining a well-structured ticket release process.

However, even with the solid structure in place, many cricket fans faced hurdles in booking their tickets, resulting in hours of 'waiting in queues', leaving them disheartened and irked.

Many cricket enthusiasts and former Indian cricketers, including Venkatesh Prasad, criticised the Indian cricket board for its mismanagement and called for improved treatment of their fans.

In response to the fans' disappointment, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken note and recently issued a statement announcing the release of 4 lakh tickets for sale on September 8.

Fans who were unable to secure tickets for this prestigious event will have the opportunity to purchase them on that day. You can go on the website of BookMyShow to grab yours or download the app for the same.

With the ODI World Cup returning to India after nearly 12 years, it's no surprise that tickets for games featuring the Men in Blue are in high demand. However, given that the BCCI is the richest cricket board, one would expect better planning.

India will kick off their World Cup 2023 campaign against Australia on October 8, with the tournament's opening game scheduled for October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. This match will feature the defending champions, England, and the runners-up from the last edition, New Zealand.
