Pakistan cricket has hit a new low as the Babar Azam-led side saw an early exit from the ongoing T20 World Cup. Before the start of the tournament, the PCB underwent several changes, and it was then that Babar was reinstated as the side's captain replacing Shaheen Afridi.

Babar failed to impress the fans and pundits in his second spell as a captain, as Pakistan lost to India and USA, which resulted in them bowing out of the tournament.

Following Pakistan's exit, there was a major outrage in Pakistan and the players were at the centre of heavy criticism and trolling. Several fans and pundits even questioned Babar's appointment as a captain.

In the latest events, former Pakistan speedster, Shoaib Akhtar, slammed Babar Azam and also trolled the Pakistan management by stating that he would love to know which 'Einstein' thought of making Babar the captain.

"Who made Babar Azam captain in the first place? Who was Einstein by the way? I need to know that guy. Did he qualify for the job or not? Did he even know a thing or two about captaincy?, questioned Akhtar on Butt Sports TV.

Notably, Pakistan's 2023 ODI World Cup campaign was also a disappointment. After that, Babar stepped down as the captain and Shaheen was named his successor. However, Afridi's failed captaincy during the T20I series against New Zealand and Australia saw the PCB sack him and reinstate Babar. However, Akhtar added that Babar is not a captaincy material.

"I have been saying that Babar is not a captain material. What is going to happen to Babar now? He is going to come down at No.4. He has to finish the games. He has to win the games. If he doesn't, he will not be able to keep his place in T20s. I am telling you right now," he added.

It is to be seen whether PCB backs Babar Azam going forward or they will again look for a replacement.
